Huron Meadows Metropark offers the perfect setting for your next fishing day trip. Anglers commonly catch blue gill, sunfish and smallmouth bass in the peaceful waters of Maltby Lake. Fishing poles are available for loan, free of charge, from the golf starter building. Try shore fishing along the Huron River and Maltby Lake. A barrier-free fishing pier, accessible by ramp or steps, is located at the Sunset Ridge Picnic Area on Maltby Lake. Ice fishing is allowed when weather conditions permit.
Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups, with a strong sense of community and support for the environment.
Geocaches are located throughout the Huron-Clinton Metroparks. If you wish to place a cache within a Metropark, see the rules, regulations, and site permit application.
Huron Meadows Metropark nurtures a golfer’s delight with an outstanding par-72, 6,688-yard 18-hole course. Undulating, green fairways are surrounded by rows of mature oak trees.
