Canoeing and Kayaking
Destination? Delhi Metropark. Best way to get there? Paddle your way down the Huron River, either from Dexter-Huron or Hudson Mills Metroparks to Delhi Metropark. Skip's Canoe Livery offers two trips: from Hudson Mills to Delhi, a three-hour, eight- mile excursion; or from Dexter-Huron, a one and one-half hour, three-mile trip. The river is fairly easy to paddle, no dams, lakes or portages. Bring a picnic lunch. Canoes and single kayaks available for rent, call for rates. Children must be 12 and older to use the kayaks. Weekend trips are from Hudson Mills to Delhi only. Skips is open every day except Wednesdays May 1 through Labor Day,; and open weekends only after Labor Day weekend. Reservations recommended.
