He’s cute. He’s adorable. And he’s the newest member of the Metroparks police force. He’s got everything a K-9 officer-in-training could want… except a name. That’s where you come in. Scroll down to suggest a name. And stay tuned! His official name will be unveiled on February 1.

The yellow male Labrador Retriever is being leased from Green Acres Labs of Highland MI and was chosen from a litter born on November 16, 2018. The dog will be spending the first part of this year with his handler, in the parks, becoming accustomed to his new daily routine. In the fall he will be going through formal training with his handler at the Oakland County K9 Academy. Formal training will include search and rescue and explosives detection. The addition of the K9 will help the Metroparks PD provide better service and greater safety for our park visitors.
