William E. Kreger, well known in political and civic affairs in Wayne County, was reappointed to represent the County of Wayne on the HCMA Board on May 6, 2001.
Kreger will serve a six-year term, which will end on May 15, 2007. Kreger has more than 40 years of service as an HCMA Commissioner. His service is the longest in HCMA history.
He has been associated with several business interests. Kreger is Chairman of the All Star Services Inc. of Port Huron (Michigan). He also served on the Board of Directors of Downriver Federal Savings & Loan Association, which is now the Standard Federal Bank, for over 23 years (from 1965 to 1988) and also served on the Board of Directors of the Heritage Bancorp Inc. 1989-1992. He was designated Director Emeritus - 1992. He served as a former Director of the Board of Directors for both Dearborn Bancorp, Inc. and the Community Bank of Dearborn in 1998.
Kreger served as mayor of Wyandotte and was publisher of the Wyandotte News-Herald Newspaper, and for over 30 years was vice-president of Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Wyandotte. He was president of Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Port Huron from 1974 to 1985.
Kreger is also a past member of the Wayne County Board of Supervisors, the Wayne County Road Commission, and the Michigan Transportation Council.
