Nature Explorer’s Camp

If you enjoy the outdoors and nature, this camp is for you! Farmer’s Camp – Farm Center

This three-day camp will offer children the opportunity to work, learn and have fun on a working farm.  This camp is for students who have finished kindergarten through the start of 8th grade.  Activities vary for ages, but could include a scavenger hunt, hike, candle dipping, felting, games, helping maintain the farm’s garden, crafts, of course doing the everyday farm chores and much more.  Please preregister, (586) 752-5932.

Nature Art Camp

Discover art in nature through this camp.  Explore the nature center area and collect items from nature to make amazing sculptures.  Then spend time at the lake while painting an awesome canvas.  While outside, track for animals and then pick your favorite track to make an animals tracks t-shirt.  Canvasses provided, please bring a white t-shirt.  Ages 6 and older. Magical beings have been turning up at Oakwoods for some time now. They have revealed themselves to me, and I have learned much about them. Fairies, Sprites, and now even the Gnomes are all calling these woods their home. During this camp you will learn all about them and maybe even get a rare glimpse of one. Searching for their doors is just part of this magical camp, you’ll be making your very own Fairy Door, Fairy Lantern and other Fairy keepsakes to take some magic home with you as well. Ages 6-12. Similar to our popular “Farmer for a Day,” but designed for the capabilities of younger kids. Farmer Jr. has kids work alongside Kensington Farmers to learn about life on the farm: meeting and feeding animals, hauling straw, doing chores and having fun!
