The Detroit River was a pretty busy place during Prohibition.  With tremendous amounts of illegal liquor entering the United States from Canada during the 1920’s and early 1930’s, stories abound.  Join some young “old timers” as you travel back to the era of blind pigs, rum-running and panther sweat.  Participants are urged to tell a few stories of their own! Come out to the farm and join our teamsters in harnessing and hitching our draft horses. Then enjoy a wagon ride through our farm fields. Ask questions and learn about these majestic equines. Have you ever wondered what lies beneath the trees and grasses?  Why, minerals of course! But where do minerals come from, and how do they become the building blocks for the hills and valleys that span the country?  We will start indoors to see minerals firsthand and learn about where they are formed, then we’ll explore how landforms are created.  We’ll finish the day with a short hike to look for some of these landforms that can be spotted in Indian Spring Metropark.  Dress for the weather.
