Invasive Shrub Removal – Huron Meadows Metropark
September 27 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Join us in removing invasive shrubs, such as Autumn Olive, from Huron Meadows Metropark. We will meet at the Acorn Ridge Picnic Shelter (look for the Metroparks vehicle and flag). Volunteers receive free day entry to the park, just let the toll booth attendant know you are at the park for a volunteer workday.
All necessary tools and equipment will be provided, as well as a water cooler and snacks. We will provide gloves, but feel free to bring your favorite pair! Please be sure to dress for working outdoors and in areas that may include poison ivy (long pants, layered clothing, closed-toe shoes, rain gear, hat, sunscreen, etc.).
Volunteers are an essential part in our fight against invasive species and in our work to restore and conserve our natural areas. Your help allows the Metroparks to protect unique ecosystems that will be enjoyed for generations to come.
