 Metroparks Police Department
The Metroparks Police Department is an authorized police department responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for nearly nine million visitors each year at 13 Huron-Clinton Metroparks in Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Wayne and Washtenaw counties. Located along the Huron and Clinton rivers, the parks cover approximately 25,000 acres, ten spectacular public golf courses and two marinas on Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair. The parks also offer scenic nature trails, breathtaking beaches, educational activities and exciting winter sports. The Metroparks Police Department has a staff of 32 full-time officers, and over 40 year-round and part-time officers and civilian seasonal personnel who are responsible for enforcing all state laws and local ordinances.
