Why wait in a long line at the mall, when you make memories of visiting Santa at a Metropark! Your child will have more than just a quick visit with Santa at one of these family-oriented programs with activities such as singing songs, wagon rides and more. Tickets go on sale beginning November 1 at most locations, so plan now for a special visit with Santa at the Metroparks!
• “Heritage Holidays,” Fridays, December 7 & 14, and Saturdays, December 1, 8, & 15 from 6 pm to 8 pm, Historic Center at Wolcott Mill Metropark in Ray Township. Experience holiday traditions of the past and create new ones. Stroll through the park and enjoy the holiday decorations, visit with Santa in the mill and make a holiday craft. Experience a 1950s Christmas setting while enjoying a cup of hot mulled cider or cut your own log cookie in the lumbering barn, watch a light show at the gazebo, and warm up at the nearby bonfire with tasty s’mores. • “Santa’s Workshop,” Friday, December 7 at 6 pm and 7 pm and Saturday, December 8 at 10 am, 11 am, 1 pm and 2 pm, Food Bar near the Wave Pool at Lake Erie Metropark in Brownstown. Enjoy a snack and a hayride, sing holiday songs, and visit Santa. Admission is by advance ticket sales only. Tickets are $6 per adult and for children ages 1 year and older, on sale beginning Thursday, November 1 at the park office and at the Marshlands Museum and Nature Center, in person or by phone. • “Lunch with Santa,” Saturday, December 8 at 11 am & 1 pm and Sunday, December 9 at 1 pm, Nature Center at Stony Creek Metropark in Rochester/Washington Township. Get into the holiday spirit with a visit, lunch, and sing-along with Santa. Kids can make a Christmas craft to take home, too! Tickets are $5 per child/$3 per adult. • “Snacks with Santa,” Saturday and Sunday, December 8 and December 9 at 10:30 am, noon & 2 pm, Farm Center at Kensington Metropark, near Milford/Brighton. Visit with Santa, have a snack, take a hayride or sleigh ride through the woods and sing holiday songs. Snacks include cookies and/or fruit, juice, hot chocolate or coffee, and the kids get a special treat from Santa. Tickets are $10 per person and go on sale Saturday, November 3 at 8 am at the Kensington Park Office. Everyone is required to have a ticket, regardless of age. • “Snacks with Santa,” Saturday, December 8 at 10 am & 1 pm, Environmental Discovery Center at Indian Springs Metropark near White Lake. Visit with Santa, decorate a cookie, hear a holiday story, and make some crafts! Tickets are $5 per child. Bring your own camera or purchase a photo for $2. Admission is by advance ticket sales only. • “Santa Central,” Sunday, December 9 at 10 am, 12:30 pm, and 2:30 pm, Activity Center at Hudson Mills Metropark near Dexter/Ann Arbor. Children can visit Santa Central to play reindeer games, make crafts, enjoy a hayride and snack, and share their wish list with Santa. Tickets are $6 per child, children under the age of 1 are free, includes all activities and hayride; and $3 per adult, includes refreshments and hayride. Admission is by advance ticket sales only. Tickets are available for purchase Thursday, November 1 at the park office. Bring your camera or purchase a photo for $2, or bring a new toy for Toys for Tots and receive a free photo. • “Sunday with Santa,” Sunday, December 16 at 10 am, 11:30 am & 1 pm, Nature Center at Oakwoods Metropark near Flat Rock. Sing Christmas carols, play games, visit Santa, hear the story “’Twas the Night Before Christmas,” and make crafts. Cocoa and cookies will be served. Tickets are $5 per person.
