
Jump on board and try something new as Stand Up Paddleboards (SUPS) are now available for rent at Eastwood Beach at Stony Creek Metropark, near Rochester/Washington Township.
Hailed as the world’s fastest growing water sport, stand up paddleboarding has quickly gained a reputation as a fun activity that is not very hard to learn. Stand up paddleboarding consists of standing on a 9- to 12-foot SUP while using a long paddle to navigate through the water
Stand up paddleboards can be rented when the beach is open, 10 am to 5 pm daily, now through Labor Day. The boards cost $10 per hour to rent with a $20 deposit required.
Participants must be 16 years or older to rent a SUP, and must provide a valid driver’s license or State issued picture ID (school ID’s are not acceptable). Life vests are provided for each SUP user. No reservations are taken as SUPS are rented on a first come first served basis. Cash only, no credit/debit cards accepted.
