Description

Bird Feeders Out!

Come to the nature center and relax in front of the bird windows with a cup of coffee. We'll put the bird feeders out and will be available for any questions or to help identify the birds you are seeing. If you're new to birding or just enjoy watching the birds, this time at the nature center is made for you.

Bird Feeders Out! is offered every first Saturday of the Month at 9:30am. Cost is $2 per person.

January 2, Februray 6, March 5, April 2, May 7, June 4, July 2, August 6, September 3, October 1, November 5, and December 3.

Join us in celebrating the birth of this great nation with fabulous fireworks! The first bursts will light up at dusk, around 10pm. Come early to grab your spot and enjoy the festivities. Snacks, games, chairs and blankets are welcome. This event is free with your Metroparks pass. A Metroparks vehicle entry permit is required to enter any Metropark and is only $35 annually for regular admission, $21 annually for seniors or $10 daily (after 5 pm the daily entrance fee will be $15 for this special event).

The Voyageurs and the pelt of the beaver affected the course of Michigan history. Join a park interpreter and paddle our 34-foot canoe to discover a bit of history and Stony Creek Lake life. Ages 7 years and up. Please preregister.

Stony Creek Metropark Nature Center is proud to present our 2nd annual "Fall for Nature Craft Show". Enjoy the fall colors as you visit local artists and their creations. Make a craft of your own, meet a nature center animal, listen to a story, craft your own s'more and more! Please call the Stony Creek Nature Center at 586-781-9113 if you have questions. For bad weather, the make-up date for the craft show is October 15.
